Bountiful Blessings

Bountiful Blessings opened in St. John on February 10, 2010. Bountiful Blessings provides non-food items, such as shampoo, toothpaste, bath soap, bath tissue, paper towels, trash bags, dish detergent, and cleaners, to those who have fallen on hard times. Terry Orendi, who is the Founder and President of Bountiful Blessings says, “We serve the working poor, senior citizens, and people who have recently lost their jobs.”

Founded in January of 2001, Bountiful Blessings encourages people to come back to the church when they are hurting. Bountiful Blessings operates inside host churches by providing simple basic needs which are not covered on federal food stamp programs. Once the recipients begin coming to the church for help, the church leadership, as well as the congregation, can begin to interact with them, pray with them and invite them to become part of their church family.

As of early fall 2011, there are 16 Bountiful Blessings locations in PA, MD, and WV.
Bountiful Blessings is a Christian-based charity offering a hand up, not a hand out. Each recipient family is required to volunteer time back either to the Bountiful Blessings program or within the host church. Orendi says, “We offer hope in a positive, uplifting Christian atmosphere.”

The Bountiful Blessings Riverdale site is open the 2nd Wednesday from 2-4pm, and on the 4th Wednesday from 5-7pm. Recipients need only to bring a photo ID showing their current address. Families with children under 24 months of age may receive baby items, if they provide a photo copy of their child’s birth certificate.
Bountiful Blessings is unique in that it has no paid staff. The program relies on over 175 volunteers who have a servant heart. 97% of every dollar donated to Bountiful Blessings goes toward items for the recipient families..

Senior Luncheons

This wonderful group of seniors meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month during the school year. This is a great opportunity for food and fellowship with our members and friends in the community. All seniors are invited.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

One of the most fun things we have each summer is our VBS program. Each year, it's a different theme, but every time, kids get to learn about God!
